Care Guide

It is not uncommon that a favorite article of clothing will need repairs in its lifetime.

Naturally, results may differ. Several factors influence the wear and tear of clothes, but the key takeaway is that regular upkeep typically costs less than extensive repairs in the long run.
The part of jeans that usually requires the most attention is the crotch. When denim wears down from the friction caused by walking, it can lead to crotch blowouts. While there are ways to prevent them, they will eventually occur, so it's wise to address repairs promptly to prevent more significant issues.

Additionally, other areas such as knees, pockets, and buttonholes often require maintenance. A professional denim repair shop can reinforce these worn areas, thereby prolonging the lifespan of your beloved jeans.
There are simple methods like patching either with an iron, needle and thread or both. This works well but might need to be repaired sooner or later.

Another method usually used for denim is darning/ reweaving. This is a process done with a sewing machine. You can use a similar color thread as the denim or something much more contrasted. With some facing fabric on the inside of the garment you can go back and forth following the diagonal twill pattern. This process will result in a hidden tear or rip and fortify that specific area of repair.

Repair shops typically charge by the size of the area needed to be repaired. It is always ideal to maintain repairs and reinforcements before they turn into messier holes or tears.
